Mountain biking

Brown County State Park's mountain bike trails have been crowned as "among the best in North America" in Bike Magazine's March issue. We are located right

Mountain Biking

by the entrance to Brown County State parks entrance and when you are done we even have a bike cleaning station to get all the trail grime and mud off after a big day on the trails.

Horseback Riding

Schooner Valley Stables is our favorite place to go horseback  riding. They will take you on a memorable ride through the hills and valleys of Yellowwood State Forest. They even offer an hour and a half moonlight night ride.

Canoeing

Brown county Wilderness Canoe Rental is an inexpensive place to get a canoe or kayak for an all-day self-guided trip on the Salt Creek. Starting from near Story Indiana and finishing back by the Lodge in Nashville, or you can even go all the way to the Monroe Reservoir!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat...

Rowboating rentals and fishing may be enjoyed at Yellowwood State Forest. It is Located approximately 8 miles from Green Valley Lodge. After a relaxing night in one of the Lodge’s comfortable rooms set out for a day in the outdoors.

Leaving our parking lot turn right and continue on 46 West about 6 miles. Near the Knight’s Corner Sawmill turn right onto Yellowwood Road and enjoy the countryside 2-3 miles to the forest. Enjoy a picnic while there, or hike the "Ten O'Clock Line" one of the only 20 mile marked hiking trails in Indiana. Yellowwood Lake now has a hiking trail around the lake. Lana grew up in this area and it is one of her favorite Spots in the county.
